GNS 201 – USE OF ENGLISH II

GOAL:

This course is designed to consolidate the student’s competence in the use of English. At the end of the course the student should understand the rules and techniques of English grammar and perform well in the use of the language.

GENERAL OBJECTIVES:
On completion of this course the student should:
1.0 Understand the rules of grammar.
2.0 Write good essays.
3.0 Comprehend the difference between denotative and connotative uses of words.
4.0 Understand the techniques of comprehension and summary writing.
5.0 Appreciate literature in English.
