About Lesson
Various strategies are used by teachers to improve instruction in class. Questioning is one of such strategies. The way teachers use questions with their students could have a big effect on their lessons especially the first question asked on entering the class because it gets the students attention and arouse interest. Questions are asked intermittently as the lesson progresses.

IMPORTANCE OF USE OF QUESTIONS
- Questions find out the past that needs further treatment and practice.
- It helps the teacher to read his pupils minds.
- It makes pupils think and find out things which they otherwise might not bother about.
- Questions develop understanding of pupils and encourage them to reason out matters for themselves.
PRINCIPLE GUIDING TEACHERS IN THE USE OF QUESTIONS IN TEACHING/LEARNING
- Question must be clear and definite in meaning and wording.
- It should stimulates real thought.
- Questions must be asked before a student is called upon to answer.
- Avoid leading questions as it result sometimes from poor ability to think and to phrase questions.
- Questions which will involve chorus answers should be avoided.
- Corroborative questions ending in isn’t it?, ‘yes’ or ‘no’ should be avoided
- It should be distinctly given and must be audible to the class but not shouted.
- It should be distributed evenly.
